Garcia hearing delayed
USC freshman quarterback Stephen Garcia will wait for his day in court.
Stephen Garcia, who was arrested in Five Points early Saturday for drunkenness and failure to stop on police command, was granted a continuance Tuesday, delaying what was scheduled to be the 19-year-old's first court appearance. Eva Gordon, a clerk at the Columbia municipal court, said Tuesday that Stephen Garcia's attorney, Neal Lourie, faxed a continuance request because Lourie is out of town.
A woman who answered the telephone at Lourie's law firm said Lourie is attending a workers' compensation convention in Las Vegas.
Gordon said Stephen Garcia has not been assigned a new court date.
